11 minutes, 31 seconds packed full of info about exactly how and why social media captures and sells our attention and influences our behavior. Machine learning is effective and decisions are monetarily driven with no incorporation of ethics or consideration of damaging societal impact. What do we do to protect ourselves? Does leaving social media altogether seem extreme? I know I've been hyper conscious and intentional about what and how much I view. I also cleared my off-facebook activity but I haven't turned it off yet because I want to watch it for a while.

Facebook allows kittens, but not info on their competitors. I can share other posts from my blog, but not this one, even after using their "linter" to fix the problem.
(I added the word kittens to my facebook post on purpose. and the filename of the attached image has the word kitten in it.)
kitten. kittens. #kittensoffacebook
kitten.
Mom is mom, no matter how old you are. 😂🤣
